As most of you will know, over the past few months we’ve been hosting a competition for our creative members of one small seed network to shoot or design the next one small seed cover. Well, after receiving over 100 unique entries, and going through a rigorous voting process online with almost 4000 votes coming in, we have finally found our winners! Their entry artworks will feature as three different covers of issue 20 of one small seed, in store this September. Without further ado, here are the winners.
• Illustrator and designer
Trevor Paul and his quirky creation ‘Banana Republic’ came out top in the voting poll.
• Our first runner-up is photographer and graphic designer
SJ van Zyl, with his image entitled ‘one small seed hatched’.
• Our second runner-up is photographer and stylist
Anya Kovacs with her captivating portrait, ‘Clown’, featuring Cape Town model Genevieve Joubert.
Finally, our fourth place winner will also be included in issue 20 of one small seed, as the front cover for our special inside section in the magazine. The image, a birthday portrait of Durbanite
Kim Smith, was a collaboration between two of our members,
Kevin Goss-Ross and
Xavier Boris Vahed, and was part of a series they created for our cover competition. Two of Kevin and Xavier’s entry images came in the top ten, so we felt they definitely deserved some exposure for their fantastic fun-filled submissions.
