Ever come across a band that you can actually respect as individuals but also as musicians? Not many people can say that they have come across such rare and special characteristics exuding in band members... Luckily I can say that I have...
I recently met up with the four-piece band members of 7StukkeSilwer at Cool Runnings. The band which previously released the video for their anti-racism song 'Genoeg' spared some time to speak with me... Skeptical about what to expect from the band at first (trust me I have come across some really wack bands with egos that do not compare to their musical talents) - I was pleasantly suprised by the level of sincerity, passion and vision that Nico, Burger, Peter and Jaco possessed.
I was also honoured to meet Justin and Ronelle, who deal with the management and publicity of the band. It was as if they were one family - and it is for their genuine family mindset and love towards their society which I respect them all for.
The band consists of a generation of men that goes beyond race, age or gender to use their musical talents to reach a broader spectrum of listeners to make a change for the positive in their lives - even if it means one step at a time.
"The reason why we remain positive and stay true to who we are is because we love what we do. We place quality time into our work and we are all on the came page - looking towards the same goals."
The guys whom all have different influences and are extremely well meshed and they each bring their own elements, views and experiences into their music with a strong kick of positivity. Whether it may be vocally or instrumentally - the band's performances contain pure essence of passion.
They have just released their latest music video, Gevangene - watch it on the link below:
